How to enable UPnP on the O2 Wireless Box II/III/IV |
Back to home |
UPnP is usually enabled by default on the O2 Wireless Box II/III/IV, and is required for a lot of programs and devices to function correctly when listening to the internet. If you are having problems with not being able to host games or file sharing applications, it is important to check it is enabled in your router.
Before you do so though, you should set your devices to get their IP address automatically via DHCP. Configuration options on devices vary, but here are some instructions for Windows: Getting your computer's IP address via DHCP.
1) Open your router's interface by visiting http://192.168.1.254/. If you are prompted for a login the username is "Administrator" and the password is the serial number of your router (printed on its underside, excluding the bit in brackets).
2) Click Toolbox > Game & Application Sharing > Configure
3) Tick "Use UPnP". Click Apply.
UPnP is now enabled in your router. Try your device or application again. If you need to forward ports manually, see Forwarding ports.
