How to configure a Netgear router for O2 Broadband

If you want to configure a Netgear router for O2 Broadband, you will have to enter a few settings first.

Please note: this information is only valid for LLU connections (The Basics, The All Rounder, The Works). It is not applicable to O2 Home Broadband Access customers.


1) Click http://192.168.0.1/ and login in with username "admin" and password "password".


2) Click "Basic Settings" on the left-hand menu.

3) Where it asks "Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login?" select No. If you asked O2 for a static IP address click "Use Static IP Address" and fill in the additional information as supplied by O2, otherwise leave it on "Get Dynamically From ISP". Click Apply.

4) Click "ADSL Settings" on the left-hand menu.

5) Set "Multiplexing Method" to LLC-Based. Set VPI to 0. Set VCI to 101. Set "DSL Mode" to Auto. Click Apply.

6) You should now be connected to O2 Broadband. Click "Router Status" in the left hand menu to verify.
