How to change your LAN IP settings |
Back to home |
Normally the O2 Wireless Box II/III/IV has an IP address of 192.168.1.254 and gives out LAN IP addresses of 192.168.1.64 to 192.168.1.253. To change the IP addresses in use, adapt the following example, which changes your router's IP address to 192.168.0.1 and your DHCP pool to 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254.
Please note: for this to work your devices must be set to obtain their IP addresses automatically. See the section: Getting your computer's IP address via DHCP.
1) Click http://192.168.1.254/ . If you are prompted for a login the username is "Administrator" and the password is the serial number of your router (printed on its underside, excluding the bit in brackets).
2) Click Home Network > Interfaces > LocalNetwork
3) Click Configure. Untick "Use DHCP server". Click Apply.
4) Click Edit in LAN_private
Please note: if the Edit option is not available, you will have to flush the DHCP leases, then return to this step and refresh the page.
5) Change "Start Address" to 192.168.0.2
6) Change "End Address" to 192.168.0.254
7) Change Server and Gateway to 192.168.0.1
8) Click Apply
9) Click Configure. Tick "Use DHCP server". Click Apply.
10) In the two empty boxes in "IP Addresses", put 192.168.0.1 in the left-hand box, and 255.255.255.0 in the right-hand box. Click "Add".
11) Reboot your computer.
You will now be using the LAN settings specified.
